MANCHESTER UNITED have decided to pay Wolves star Matheus Cunha’s release clause after agreeing personal terms, reports suggest.
Cunha, 25, has been among the most sought-after forwards ahead of the summer transfer window following a raft of impressive performances at Molineux this season.

United have made the striker a top target amid their search for a new hitman that will lead Ruben Amorim’s attack next term following some disappointing displays by Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
According to Relevo, Man Utd intend to pay the Brazil international’s asking price, which is worth a reported €62.5million (£53.6m), in the coming weeks.
Cunha is keen to move to Old Trafford as he has reached a verbal agreement with the Red Devils.
The same source claims things are moving so fast that the Brazilian is now “very close” to becoming a United player.
Amorim has already laid down some of the groundwork by talking to the club’s key target.
The pair reportedly spoke at Molineux and were spotted conversing at Old Trafford after Wolves beat Man Utd 1-0 last week.
However, Newcastle could rival their Premier League foes for Cunha come June.
The Magpies’ boss Eddie Howe is said to be planning to use the centre-forward as support for star man Alexander Isak on the left flank.

Cunha has amassed 17 goals and six assists in 32 appearances across all competitions this season.
This adds up to his total of 33 goals and 15 assists in 88 appearances ever since his arrival at Wolves from Atletico Madrid in 2023.
Man Utd are also said to be keeping tabs on other strikers, such as Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap.
