MANCHESTER UNITED have made a change to the Old Trafford concourse as they look to modernise the stadium.
It has been one year since United officials announced plans to build a new 100,000-seater stadium in the city.
The Red Devils aim to create a ‘Wembley of the North’ which is estimated to cost £2billion.
They are yet to secure funding for the project, so the process has stalled.
Club chiefs have therefore made the decision to modernise elements of Old Trafford while they wait for building work to get underway.
And the latest move has seen the introduction of self-serve drinks areas.
Fans are now able to get beer from vending machines in some areas of the stadium.
The current drinks on offer at the machines are Guinness and Madri.
Fans have received a message promising 25 per cent off drinks if they arrive at least an hour before kick-off.
With no European football and only 20 home matches to be played this season, United stressed they must drive revenues to reinvest in the first team and facilities.

Man Utd hoped to move into the new stadium by 2030 when the announcement was made last year.
But due to the delays, that target is now looking unlikely.
Well-placed sources have stressed that there is a difference between what is public and what is private in regards to United seeking backers for what would be Europe’s biggest football stadium.
A source familiar with the behind-scenes-discussions insisted that the funding search has been “going well” despite the lack of public updates.
