United roared into the lead through former Scotland captain Darren Fletcher.

The visitors then went 2-0 up thanks to a scorcher from Dimitar Berbatov.

But Celtic fought back with two goals in five second-half minutes through Scott McDonald and Shaun Maloney.

It forced a penalty shootout, with Joe Hart missing a spot-kick for Celtic before pulling off a stunning save against Darren Gibson.

Lee Naylor then stepped up to score the winning penalty for the Hoops, sending the green half of Glasgow wild.

However, the game was paused midway through the second half when a fan decided to invade the pitch.

The male was decked head to toe in a grey hooded tracksuit.

And he made the most of the moment by pinching a corner flag bearing the Celtic flag.

Fortunately, the bizarre moment failed to overshadow what was a great game for an even greater cause.

United icons including Michael Carrick, Nani and Louis Saha all turned out in Scotland.

While for Celtic, favourites like Artur Boruc, Joe Ledley and Georgios Samaras were given a warm welcome.

All money raised will go to the Celtic FC Foundation, which helps the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in the local community.
