But it remains to be seen how much longer Ronaldo plays on for, with the veteran already admitting this summer’s World Cup will be his last with Portugal.

Ronnie’s record £492million club contract in Saudi Arabia then expires a year later.

Yet he is determined to continue playing as he chases more goals, admitting: “It doesn’t matter where.”

Ronaldo has already enjoyed major success in Europe, including two stints at Manchester United and nine years at Real Madrid.

Should he return to the continent, it would surely be a major shock given his age and the fact he is currently in his fourth season away from Europe with Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo’s time at the club was marked with the Best Middle East Player trophy at Sunday’s Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai.

But it was there he hinted he could be on the move in the near future.

Ronaldo, who also played for Juventus and Sporting Lisbon, said: “My passion is high and I want to continue.

“I will each the number (of 1,000 goals) for sure, if no injuries.”

Ronaldo further cemented his legacy in Saudi Arabia by splashing out on two new luxury homes on a private island only accessible by boat or seaplane.

The ace and partner Georgina Rodriguez can now enjoy regular holidays to the exclusive Red Sea island of Nujuma.

It is located 800 miles away from capital city Riyadh, where Ronnie plies his trade with Al-Nassr.

And reports claim he has spent a combined £7m on his new properties.
