MANCHESTER UNITED have been forced to issue a statement following the hacking of Bruno Fernandes’ X account.
The Red Devils skipper’s page was compromised in the aftermath of their FA Cup third-round exit at the hands of Brighton.
The hacker fired off a series of wild posts, including crude ones about German footballer Alisha Lehmann and adult actress Bonnie Blue.
One also included a “1V1” challenge to darts superstar and United superfan Luke Littler.
The hacker’s “Let’s get rid of INEO” post spread like wildfire on the platform formerly known as Twitter.
United eventually got wind of Fernandes’ account being compromised and issued a statement urging fans not to interact with it until further notice.
It read: “Bruno Fernandes’s X account has been hacked.
“Supporters should not engage with any of the posts or direct messages.”
The club’s plea seemingly enraged the hacker, whose post about Sir Jim Ratcliffe‘s INEOS suggests they may actually be a United fan.
They replied to the club statement: “F**k no way, I’ll spread the word.”

Several of the posts made by the hacker have been deleted.
But it’s currently unclear whether the account is back under the control of the Portuguese and his team.
The hacking of his X account came just hours after Fernandes and his team-mates’ FA Cup run was ended at the hands of Brighton.
The Red Devils suffered a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford.
Goals from Brejan Gruda and former academy graduate Danny Welbeck fired the Seagulls into the fourth round and heaped more misery on the club in interim manager Darren Fletcher‘s second game since the sacking of Ruben Amorim.
Fernandes and his team-mates will be back in action on Saturday afternoon, welcoming Manchester City to the Theatre of Dreams.
