ANTONY was left raging at a referee after his team-mate was booked following a never-before-seen corner routine.
The former Manchester United flop was in action for new home Real Betis in the Europa League when the incident occurred.
Betis were 4-1 up on aggregate in the dying minutes of their round of 16 clash against Panathinaikos when Ezequiel Avila was booked.
The forward had faked a run-up on the corner, giving the impression he was going to take it with his right foot.
However, he overran the ball only to switch back and whip in a cross on his left foot.
The cross was met in the air by Natan, who headed home to seemingly give Betis their fifth goal of the night.
The unique corner routine was ruled out by German referee Tobias Stieler who then came over to book Avila.
Antony, 26, was close to his team-mate and could be seen fuming at the decision by the official.
He pleaded with both the referee and the linesman as he raged at the booking.
But the goal was never going to stand as the whistle had already been blown moments before the cross reached Natan.

Stieler was more focused on cautioning Avila due to time-wasting and not the deceiving play.
The whistle was heard by the Greek side’s players who had remained static in the box as the ball found the net.
Antony was able to have some enjoyment in the game, having netted his side’s fourth.
He pulled out a unique celebration as he put on a tweed flat cap during the jubilations.
Betis have now advanced to the quarter-finals and will face Portuguese side Braga for a spot in the last four.
Antony joined the LaLiga side permanently in the summer of 2025 after an initial loan in the second half of the 2024/25 season.
He made the exit from Old Trafford after a struggling two-and-half-years following his £85.5million switch from Ajax.
The Brazilian has found his best form in Spain, having already scored 21 times in 61 games.
His record is significantly better than his 12 goals in 96 appearances for United.
