Man City make first move in race for Marc Guehi transfer as they line up £40m bid to beat Liverpool to defender

MANCHESTER CITY have launched their move for Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, who is open to a sensational January switch.

City are close to agreeing terms with the England defender and have opened talks with the Eagles over a fee.

Palace want close to £40million for their skipper, who has just six months left on his deal.

Guehi would be walking away from a significant signing on fee in the summer were he to move as a free agent.

Palace boss Oliver Glasner torpedoed a summer deadline day move to Liverpool last year but recently opened the door to a sale this month.
