Man charged with attempted murder after gun fired at car in Bristol leaves victim seriously injured

A MAN was charged with attempted murder yesterday after a gun was fired at a car, seriously injuring a victim.

William Scammell, 24, from Bristol, is due to appear before the city’s magistrates today.

He is also charged with possessing a shortened shotgun after the incident in Speedwell, Bristol, at 1.50pm on Wednesday.

The victim, a man in his 20s, remains in hospital with serious injuries.

A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were also arrested on Thursday on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Police said they have been released on bail.

“But we would like to reassure the public that this remains a priority investigation for us.
