
A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a grandmother was stabbed to death in her countryside cottage.
Gilly Livie, 68, was found with a stab wound to her neck after emergency crews were scrambled to her home in Cheriton, Hampshire, on January 9.

Medics battled to save the grandmother’s life but she was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 30s was also found at the address suffering what were initially described as life-threatening injuries.
He was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Detectives have since arrested a man, from nearby Alton, on suspicion of murder.
He will remain in hospital until he his well enough to be taken to a police station.
Inspector Stuart Ross, from Winchester district, said: “Detectives continue to work hard to find out exactly what happened to Gilly.
“We would like to thank the local community in Cheriton for their patience while we carried out our initial enquiries.
“I would like to re-iterate that we do not believe there is any wider threat or risk to the local community.
“If people do have any further information that they think may help our investigation, then please contact us.
“In particular, we are still keen to here from anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage in Cheriton between the hours of 11pm on January 8 and 11am the following day.”
