A man has been charged after a woman in her 20s reported being raped at a seaside car park.
Suleman Mukaish, 27, is accused of attacking the woman around 8pm on Wednesday at the Lyndhurst Road car park in Worthing, West Sussex.
The woman is being supported by specialist officers from Sussex Police.
Mukaish, of Worthing, was remanded in police custody and will appear before Crawley Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said they are treating the event as an isolated incident and police are not looking for anybody else.
The force said in a statement: ‘A man has been charged with raping a woman in a car park in Worthing.
‘Suleman Mukaish, 27, of Cambridge Road, Worthing, is accused of committing the offence in Lyndhurst Road car park around 8pm on Wednesday 11 March.
‘He has been remanded in custody to appear before Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Monday 16 March.
