A HEARTBROKEN family has paid a moving tribute to their “funny and honest” loved one who was shot to death.
Emergency services rushed to the London Borough of Camden at around 11pm Saturday after gunfire was heard.
Paramedics battled to save a 26-year-old – now identified as Nahom Medhanie.
But tragically he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Now his devastated family – who are being supported by specialist cops – has released a statement about their loved one.
“Nahom was more than a son and a brother to us and since his passing it has been the hardest days of our lives,” it read.
“He was funny, honest and would just light up the room with his presence and that’s what we loved most about him.”
His family has asked for privacy at this time.
The case is being investigated by homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.
CCTV enquiries showed that Nahom was shot several times while sitting in a white Nissan Juke by the suspect.
Police say that the shooter arrived and left on a bike.
Investigations into the shocking murder continue.
The force have also confirmed that no arrests have been made.
Speaking following the incident, Detective Chief Inspector Joanna Yorke sought to reassure the community.
“We are aware of the concern that this will cause for the local community, and want to reassure them that we are working hard to identify the attacker and bring them to justice,” she said.
“If anyone has any information that could help us, it is extremely important that they contact the police – either through 101, online or via independent charity Crimestoppers to remain anonymous.
“Our thoughts are with the young man’s family at this incredibly difficult time.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting CAD 8032/28MAR or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
