A MAJOR supermarket chain has stunned shoppers after it seems to have slashed the price of its Easter chocolate to just 9p.
Bargain hunters have posted pictures of the find as some have questioned whether the low cost is too good to be true.
Aldi appears to have dropped the amount buyers will need to spend on Easter eggs to less than 10p.
According to videos circulating online, the discount giant has made the change whilst stocks last.
Well-known brands like Cadbury’s appear in the list, whilst other seasonal food such as hot choc bombes also feature.
The store’s website confirms the move for some items with Jaffa Nutoka and Caramelised Biscuit Flavoured Filled Mini Eggs all advertised for the low-ball price.
A 125 gram Dark Chocolate Marzipan Bar has also been impacted by the change.
After one surprised customer shared a picture of a Cadbury’s Creme Egg Easter box, the post gained more than 1000 comments and reactions.
Even someone claiming to be an employee wrote: “They definitely ARE 9p lol i work there.”
Someone else said: “Now that’s a bargain, if it’s true.”
Another wrote: “The price on the shelf is normal price but once you scan them at tills they are 9p, I’ve just been and bought 3.”
A fourth commented: “That’s excellent.”
Whilst another user put: “I’m very EGGCITED to see this as seeing things like this CRACK me up.
“I hope by the time I get there there not all gone otherwise I will be SHELLshocked.
“I hope it isn’t a YOLK.”
Some seemed disappointed to not find the deal in their local supermarket.
Whilst the store has not advertised which locations are subject to the savvy price, it will likely depend on stock levels.
It is always best to phone up ahead before setting off to avoid disappointment.
Chocolate fans were racing earlier this week to stores after eagle-eyed bargain hunters uncovered other Easter chocolates for as little as 49p.
The sweet deal was shared in the popular Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.
The savvy shopper posted: “Back in stock 22/4/25” – alongside pics of Galaxy Truffle Mini Eggs and Galaxy Hazelnut Truffle Eggs, both marked down to 49p.
The treats, which usually sell for much more, are dated mid-June – meaning there’s still plenty of time to tuck in.
The deal was spotted at Farmfoods in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, but shoppers nationwide are already scrambling to see if their local branch is stocking the discounted eggs.
Comments flooded in, with one shopper saying: “OMG heading now” .
How to save money on chocolate

We all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don’t have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.
Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…
Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed about flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for the supermarket’s own brand bars.
Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.
Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.
Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.
They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best-before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.
Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.
So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
