A stretch of the M6 through North Staffordshire will likely be closed for most of this morning.

Emergency services raced to the scene last night after a lorry overturned.

National Highways said the recovery of the lorry is ongoing and they are also dealing with the fuel spill.

Staffordshire Police’s road crime team said no one was hurt.

National Highways had confirmed the northbound closure at around 10.30pm last night.

The road crime team said in a post on X: “M6 J14 to J15 CLOSED – Single vehicle RTC.

“HGV has collided with nearside and central barriers resulting in the HGV turning over spilling diesel all over the carriageway.
