A MAJOR discount store is preparing to shut another branch as it launches a 40% off clearance sale.
Poundland is preparing to close its branch at Shawlands Retail Park on Newton Road in Suffolk.

The popular branch will close on Wednesday April 22, with the store launching a 40% off closing down sale yesterday.
News of the closure has left locals heartbroken, with one sharing “this is really sad”.
While another added: “Very sad news poor people loosing their jobs”.
The closure is not because of last year’s restructure.
It comes as the bargain store shut a branch in the Eastgate Shopping Centre, in Basildon on Wednesday, February 25, two weeks ahead of schedule.
The branch was due to shut down on March 13 after the retailer did not come to an agreement on lease terms with the landlord.
The bargain chain is also due to shut a branch in Holyhead Retail Park on March 19, with a clearance sale already under way.
The discount retailer has already shut more than 100 locations since June 2025.
Poundland narrowly avoided going into administration last summer after approving a last-minute rescue plan from US investors Gordon Brothers.
Last month, bosses at the retailer said large-scale shop closures at the firm were over.
The discount brand confirmed it ended the year with 651 sites, down from about 800 prior to the reorganisation.
