A MAJOR A road has been closed in both directions after a vehicle overturned.
Motorists travelling on the A56 face huge delays after a lorry struck the central reservation just after 6am this morning.

Lancashire Police said: “We want to update you and let you know that A56 in Rossendale is currently closed in both directions between Edenfield and Haslingden due to a road traffic collision.
“We anticipate that the road will be closed for some time, whilst we make sure the road is safe.
“In the meantime, we’d recommend looking for an alternative route and driving carefully, leaving plenty of extra time to get to your destination.”
