It’s been a tense week for the couple who split after a series of rows.

They have clashed on various issues, and recently called it quits following another argument at the latest dinner party.

And at the final commitment ceremony, Grace and Ashley opted not to appear on the show.

This led expert Mel Schilling to discuss their absence with the group, as she read out a statement.

Mel said: “It’s been incredible to see all your journeys unfold with your time with us.

“This is the last time that you get to bring your marriage to the couch and share with us where you’re at at this pivotal stage in the experiment and make that final decision on whether to stay or leave.”

She then added: “Before we begin, obviously you’ll all notice that Grace and Ashley are not with us today, they’ve had a rocky couple of weeks and as a result, felt they needed more time to reflect and they won’t be joining us today.”

This week, Grace hit out at her ex in a post, sharing pictures of her speaking to co-stars Keye and Leigh.

She captioned the post: “I expect you to accept no for an answer.

“I expect you to prioritise my discomfort over your desire for sex.

“I expect you to act like a grown man capable of self-control.”

Grace jokingly added: “Sponsored by Canesten Duo.”

In previously aired scenes, the MAFS cast got together for their weekly dinner party, and things came to a head for the warring couple.

Things then went from bad to worse for the couple following Wife Swap week.

Ashley realised that he was “happier” during his time away from Grace.

Meanwhile, Grace thought her husband was acting “selfish” when he returned, and wasn’t willing to sort things out.

In Wednesday night’s episode things finally came to a head and the couple admitted that they could “no longer go on”.

Following another argument at the dinner table, Ashley stormed off and admitted to wanting to leave the show.

“I’d hate to hurt Grace’s feelings. I just feel like I can’t give any more to this. So I have to be selfish and put myself first,” the tearful groom told producers.
