A MAFS contestant’s ex has been arrested by Merseyside Police

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “We have arrested a 37-year-old man from Bootle on suspicion of stalking and engaging in controlling/coercive behaviour.

“He has been released on conditional bail pending further inquiries.”

The Sun has contacted a representative for MAFS for comment.

The arrest comes just days ahead of the current series’ final vows and reunion episodes.

The series, which has been on for nine weeks, has received a mixed reception from fans, some of which have grown tired of the constant clashes and lack of chemistry between spouses.

One person recently fumed on X: “They are flogging something absolutely boring to death and it is becoming unwatchable and it’s actually just irritating the F out of me now.

“With the ridiculous music and just snaps of people’s reactions then an advert then back to dramatic music and snapshots of people’s horrified reactions then another advert and over and over and over again.

“It’s the most ridiculous load of baloney I’ve ever seen.”

But another has revelled in it, writing: “I think I might actually have a heart attack.. there’s so much drama and I’m HOOOOOKED.”

The arrest is the latest off-air controversy in the popular show’s history.

Last year, former RAF serviceman Alex Henry, 29, was seized by military police after abandoning his post at an electronic warfare base to find love and fame on the show.

He was sentenced to 34 days in a military prison, serving 24 days before being sacked.
