M621 closed in BOTH directions over ‘police-led incident’ with diversions in place and drivers warned of delays

Motorway M1 Southbound at Junction 40.

A MAJOR UK motorway has been closed to all traffic following a “police led” incident.

The M621 in West Yorkshire is closed westbound between J7 (Stourton) and J4 (Leeds), and eastbound between J3 (Leeds) and J7.

It comes after a police incident reported in the early hours of the morning.

National Highways are on the scene along with police officers from West Yorkshire Police.

The road has been left completely empty with no sign of traffic being allowed to pass through the area.

Due to the nature of the incident it remains unclear how long the closure will last.
