A MAJOR motorway is closed in both directions after a crash.
The M6 is partially shut between junction 27 at Wigan and junction 28 at Leyland in Lancashire.
National Highways said two lanes of the road’s northbound route are closed, as is one southbound following the incident.
There are currently one hour delays and six miles of congestion northbound.
The roads authority added the closure came about there for “central reservation replacement works after a collision early this morning”.
