M6 grinds to a halt with drivers facing 90-minute delays after horror lorry crash

A MAJOR UK motorway has been forced to closed after a horror smash involving a lorry – sparking travel chaos.

Motorists travelling on the M6 near Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, have been warned of delays of up to 90 minutes.

National Highways said: “2 lanes (of 4) remain closed on the M6 southbound between J15 Stoke-on-Trent and J14 Stafford.

This is due to a collision involving a lorry that has left the carriageway.

All emergency services are in attendance and recovery is en route.

“Due to the position the the lorry has ended up in, recovery likely be protracted.

“Delays are now approaching 90 minutes on the approach.”
