M23 closed at Gatwick Airport over serious crash right before the Easter break sparking misery for holidaymakers

A MAJOR UK motorway has been closed following a serious traffic collision – sparking massive delays for holidaymakers ahead of the Easter break.

The M23 northbound is currently closed between Junction 10, Crawley and Junction 9, Gatwick.

Emergency services scrambled to the chaotic scene in the early hours of this morning in the wake of the smash.

National Highways has warned the closure is likely to last for several hours as crews work to reopen the road.

Huge queues have formed on the busy road as commuters battle with the lengthy delays.
