M1 closed in BOTH directions as cops on scene of incident and drivers hit with delays

DRIVERS have been warned of travel chaos after an incident shut down a major motorway.

The M1 is currently closed while Derbyshire Police are responding to an incident.

Both directions of the major carriageway are closed withing junction 29A near Staveley.

Traffic cam footage shows lengthy queues building up as cops continue their investigation.

Motorists have been urged to use alternative routes where possible.
