LUSH shoppers have been left furious after struggling to use the retailer’s website and app during the Boxing Day sales chaos.
The cosmetics chain, famous for its bath bombs and body lotions, usually has a hugely popular 50% off sale on December 26.
Excited shoppers started logging onto the Lush website and app at midnight to be the first to grab bargains – but many say they were hit with problems.
Some reported the site kept crashing while others said they were unable to check out or the reductions didn’t show up.
“Had stuff ready in my basket and wishlist ready just in case, couldn’t check out even though everything was in stock,” one person wrote on the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.
“It’s now emptied everything and I can’t load anything. Nightmare.”
Another wrote: “I had a basket full ready to checkout now error 404 sure by the time it works what I wanted will be out of stock.”
A third person said: “I give up website is a joke had a basket full now it’s crashed with error 404 app is the same.”
Another frustrated customer said: “Spent hours early morning putting things in basket for 45 mins to try and check out then things sold out again having to update then wait again.
“After 2 hours gave up WHAT a shambles, worst website I’ve ever used.”
Someone else wrote: “I wouldn’t bother as the website is not working. I have been trying to pay for an hour …. and now my basket has just gone. They do this every year… their site is not up to much.”
And another said: “You would have thought lush would have sorted their app out by now… every Boxing Day it’s the same. It won’t let me add anything to the basket.”
Others who logged onto the website at around midnight said items were showing up as 50% off but were not reduced in price when they were added to their basket.
However there were some happy shoppers who managed to get their orders in without issue.
A few said they had more luck getting their orders in on the Lush app.
The Sun tried to log onto the website at 10am and found there was a short wait time to get access to the sale.
However lots of popular items are now unavailable, including the Snow Fairy body lotion and Lord of Misrule body spray.
It’s not the first time Lush fans have reported problems with the Boxing Day sales.
Last year, the retailer tried out a new system where shoppers had to download the app to access the sale.
But many complained they had trouble loading the app all day and by the time they got in, all the deals had gone.
Shoppers also reported the website crashing during the sales in 2022, leaving some people unable to order their items.
If you can’t get onto the website, you can still head down to your nearest Lush store.

Huge queues have already been seen outside the retailer’s stores in Manchester and Glasgow this morning.
Some of the deals you can get include the Snowing bath oil which is £5 down from £10, and the Cookie Dough lip scrub which is £3.75 down from £7.50.

Post-Christmas sales can be a great time to bag some end-of-year bargains and most shops take part.
Remember to write a list in advance, and always compare prices ahead of the sale to ensure you get your coveted items for the very best price.
