LOVE Island firecracker Messy Mitch has lifted the lid on why he’s ditched the influencer life and headed back to his old nine-to-five.
Mitchel Taylor, who shot to fame on the 2023 series before bagging a spot on the All Stars spin-off, has revealed the showbiz bubble has well and truly burst.

The 27-year-old, who became a household name for his chaotic antics in the Love Island villa, confessed he’s had to swap fame for graft because the TV money’s dried up.
After two years living off his villa fame, the reality star has confessed it’s no longer paying the bills – and he’s back on the tools as a gas engineer.
Taking to his Instagram stories, he told fans: “Guys, if you’re not nearly 30 like gorgeous Messy Mitch, and you’re still trying to survive off Love Island money, not locking into other ventures, then yes, you’re stupid.
“You gotta do Love Island and you gotta do your day job, because money keeps sexy girlfriends and buys houses.”
This comes after he opened up to fans on Snapchat, saying: “Yes guys listen giving you an update on my life and to be honest with you. I’ve just not posted on Snapchat at all since.
“I didn’t have a 9-5 for two years because I was, like, old rock star famous cool guy. Now I’m poor, so I’ve got to work.”
The gas engineer revealed he’s been “grafting loads” and staying off social media – and ruled out a return to dating shows, telling followers he’s loved up with TikTok star Hayley Griffin.
He added: “And I can’t go on a dating shows because I’m in love with a girl. But it’s not that guys, it’s just like I’ve been working loads.”
Mitch, dubbed “Messy Mitch” for jumping between Molly, Leah, Jess, Ella and Abi during his 2023 stint.
Just weeks after they returned to the UK, Mitch and Ella called things off and he was later pictured cosying up next to his ex Abi on a red carpet.
After the pair split, he took a second stab at romance on the All Stars spin-off last year – but was swiftly dumped after a fiery clash with Liberty Poole.
He sparked even more chaos by posting fake messages from Grace Jackson, claiming she only wanted to win the show and wasn’t in it for love – a move that ended up helping Casey and Gabby scoop the All Stars crown.
But now, instead of grafting for love, Mitch is grafting for cash.

Poking fun at his multiple Love Island stints, she said in a TikTok video: “Me taking Mitch on as a boyfriend so no one has to watch him on Love Island again.”
