EKIN-SU Cülcüloğlu has revealed she lost out on a huge acting role to an A-list actress after auditioning following her Love Island win in 2022.
The 31-year-old shot to fame when she won Love Island with ex-boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti and has since taken part in reality shows including Dancing On Ice and Celebrity Big Brother.
But Ekin-Su – who had her first taste of the entertainment industry when she starred in a soap opera in her native Turkey in 2019 – has shared plans to step back from reality TV and focus on her acting career.
And she told fans she had a chance of landing a part in hit drama The White Lotus – going up for the role of Chelsea, which eventually went to Aimee Lou Wood.
During an Instagram Q&A, Ekin-Su told her followers: “I auditioned for the role of Chelsea on @thewhitelotus in 2023.
“It wasn’t my strongest work or even the right time so it didn’t go through for a reason.”
Despite the set-back, Eki-Su hasn’t been put off of chasing her dreams and opened up on plans to crack Hollywood.
She said: “I’m stepping back into acting and focusing more on passion projects.
“I know many people discovered and supported me through reality TV but that was a temporary direction I took after Love Island.
“Acting has always been the bigger picture for me and something I was doing in Turkey before LI.”
However Ekin-Su teased she could be tempted back into reality TV for the right show.
She added: “There are still certain reality appearances I’d consider if the timing is right.
“I’ve mentioned the jungle is one of them, but for now I’m excited to see where this new direction takes me.”
And Ekin-Su confirmed fans will soon see her in a role ‘different to anything she’s done so far’.
When asked by a fan what she’s been up to, Ekin-Su replied: “Productive meetings, laying the groundwork for the New Year with my team.
“As well as kicking off a project I can’t share just yet but will do soon. It’s different to anything I’ve done, that’s all I can hint.”
