IT was a centrepiece of the Love Island villa for its first few seasons.
But the smoking area was abolished from the programme in 2018 in order to comply with tighter broadcasting restrictions on broadcasting smoking on television.
ITV bosses were forced to scrap the smoking area in a bid to not glamoruise smoking by the Islanders but many fans are desperate for it to be brought back after it became the focal point of drama in the early seasons.
Whilst Islanders are now forced to smoke or vape away from cameras alone and accompanied by just a member of production, during the early days, they were aloud to chain smoke the night away just inches away from the villa pool.
The smoking area was where the most drama kicked off as well as being the place for the occasional hilarious moment.

Malia gets booted out
It was the smoking area where one of the most shocking events in Love Island history took place.
The row that saw Islander Malia Arkian booted after mere minutes took place in the smoking area.
The rowdy and outrageous Manchester less was left in a row with Kady McDermott after falsely suggesting Kady had intentionally spilt a drink on her.
Malia ended up attacking Kady before the two girls were quickly pulled apart.
She was soon told to leave but the moment went down in Love Island history.
Hannah’s Smoking Rant
Back in series one, iconic contestant Hannah Elizabeth was never far away from having a rant and a cigarette at the same time.
In one memorable moment, she could be seen fuming to co-star Jessica Hayes about hos “p***ed off” she was with the lads.
In between each sentence, Scouse bombshell Hannah took a lengthy drag as she found comfort in her cigarette as she aired out her thoughts.
She said in the scene: “Watch what happens after today now.
“Them girls are gonna come in and they are gonna p*** me off.”
Amber Davies v Georgia Harrison
Following a dramatic re-coupling in series three, future show winner Amber took some time out to puff on a cigarette and calm herself.
New bombshell Georgia Harrison had just wandered in and stole Amber’s long-term villa partner Kem Cetinay to be her own.
Amber was instantly left fuming and the pair exchanged their first words to one another in the smoking area.
Furiously puffing away, Amber, who has since become a West End star, gave Georgia a dirty look as Georgia pleaded for her to be nice.
Georgia said: “There is no need to feel any anger or aggression towards me.”
Jonny’s thoughts on Theo
Jonny Mitchell let his thoughts on Theo Campbell be known during a tense moment in the smoking area.
He could be seen ranting away to villa partner Tyla Carr and pal Jamie Jewitt after Theo opted to steal Tyla away from Jonny.
Jonny felt that Theo could have spoke to him before he surprised him in the re-coupling.
Olivia vs Chloe
Series three was jam-packed with rows around the smoking area with Olivia Attwood and Chloe Crowhurst coming to blows in a very awkward moment.
Chloe confronted Olivia about the real reason she ended her potential connection with Sam Gowland to pursue something new with Chris Hughes.
It led Chloe to call into question Olivia’s authenticity all whilst they puffed away on their cigarettes.
The entire group sat around and watched all – nearly all of them complete with a cig in their hand.
Chris Hughes’ rap
Who can forget the moment that Chris Hughes came out with one of his infamous one-liners.
It was following a tense row in the villa that Chris asked his co-stars as they sat in the smoking area if he “should rap to lift the mood a bit”.
Chris alongside pal Kem often came up with fun little raps to pass the time on the show.
They eventually released a single titled, Little Bit Leave It, after their villa exit.
