MALIN Andersson has revealed she is “sad” not to be spending Christmas day with her daughter, Xaya, this year.
The former Love Island star is co-parenting her daughter with ex-partner Jared, and said it’s “unimaginable” not to be with her little one.
Taking to Instagram, Malin explained that while three-year-old Xaya will wake up at her house on Christmas morning, she will then go to her dad’s home.
“Xaya is going to be with me until 11am and then she is going to be returned at 4pm,” said Malin in a video.
She admitted: “So, from 11 until 4, I’m gonna play on the Xbox, eat loads of cheese and chocolate, and be sad.
“Or occupy myself, I don’t know.”

Continuing that it’s new territory for the family, Malin said: “This year is going to be the first organised Christmas in terms of co-parenting because last year was a write off.
“The year before I was in rehab and the year before that, I spent with his family because I was lonely.
“It’s a really, really weird time of year to co-parent, to not be with your child on Christmas day is unimaginable, it’s weird.
“It’s like, I don’t even want that, but it is what it is.”
She then called for fans to share what their plans are over Christmas time, jesting that she might need a “big FaceTime call” to take her mind off of it.
Malin split from Jared back in 2022, just weeks after they welcomed Xaya.
At the time, she said of the split: “There was a lot of pressure involved. Plus, he’s only ever really known me as hormonal Malin because I’d been pregnant pretty much ever since we’d first gotten together!
Talking to OK!, Malin added: “I was relying on him so much that I feel like he lost himself a bit. It was best for both of us to take some months apart, so that’s what we did.”
The split came following a tough few years for Malin, after her mother passed away at the end of 2017 aged 65 while battling stomach cancer.
Around two years later, Malin’s baby daughter Consy passed away as well from complications of being born prematurely.
Following her split from Jared and the emotionally-draining years prior, Malin spiraled down a dangerous path and ended up going to rehab for binge-drinking and drug use.
She has since turned things around and is working as a wellness coach.
Malin featured on the second series of the highly popular ITV programme Love Island back in 2016, lasting twenty five days in the villa.
