LOVE ISLAND fans are convinced stars are breaking the show’s biggest rule “every night” – did you spot it?
Over the last couple of episodes of All Stars, the contestants have been getting very emotional and viewers think it’s because they’re breaking the alcohol rules.
The islanders are usually only allowed one or two drinks per person, with producers keen to curb alcohol intake as part of their welfare.
Fans have been taking to X to share their theories as one person speculated: “Are they being given more alcohol this season or something bc what is going on with everyone every night #loveislandallstars #loveisland.”
Another ITV2 viewer expressed: “Jess seems drunk every night.”
Somebody else responded: “Honestly I thought that but never watched her season so didn’t know if that was just how she is.
“Most of them seem drunk and emotional every night I’m baffled.”
Yet another commented: “Have they increased the alcohol this season coz it’s giving drunk lately #loveislandallstars #loveisland.”
Somone else penned: “I had my doubts the other day but I’m 100% sure Jess is drunk every night #loveisland.”
While a sixth fan added: “Honestly think most of them are drunk right now #loveisland.”
The one drink rule has been confirmed by multiple former contestants following their individual stints on the show over the years.
Liona Isadora Van-Riel, who participated on series two back in 2016 previously told The Sun: “You’re allowed one or two drinks a night, either wine or beer, no spirits”
She mentioned that on most nights people would just drink one or just have a cup of tea.
However on a “big night” like someone being voted off, contestants would typically have two drinks.
In 2024, following his stint on the first series of All Stars, Mitch Taylor confirmed to The Sun: “We’re not getting more alcohol, no chance.
“We’re still stuck to our one to two drinks a night.”
Eyal Booker, who starred in series four, told Closer: “It was very, very limited. Max two glasses of wine a night and that’s max!”
This isn’t the only rule contestants have to follow after bosses banned smoking inside the villa after the 2017 series.
They now have to go to a designated area to smoke but it’s no longer shown on screen like it was for the first two series.
During a Q&A with fans on Reddit, executive producer Mike Spencer previously revealed: “We do have an off camera area for smokers although I have to say most people don’t tend to smoke any more!”
Islanders typically cook only one meal for themselves a day with breakfast, but lunches and dinners are catered for the group.
It’s unsure if it’s the case for All Stars contestants because the duration is usually shorter than the normal series, but islanders have a day off on Saturday.
Love Island: All Stars continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
