Lord Ming Campbell dead: Ex-Liberal Democrat leader and Olympic sprinter dies aged 84 as family pays tribute

FORMER Lib Dem leader and Olympic sprinter Lord Menzies Campbell has died aged 84.

He was first elected to the Commons in 1987, winning the North East Fife constituency, a seat he held until his retirement in 2015.

Lord Campbell was a prominent critic of Labour leader Tony Blair’s decision to back the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.
