Liverpool suffer major injury blow as star forward forced off moments after delayed kick-off at Brighton

HUGO EKITIKE lasted just EIGHT minutes before he was substituted with an injury in Saturday’s early kick-off at Brighton.

The French forward collided with with James Milner in the opening minutes and needed treatment from the physio.

Ekitike tried continuing on, but was visibly distraught with tears in his eyes as he had to come off the pitch.

Arne Slot sent on Curtis Jones as his replacement with Florian Wirtz moving into a false nine position.

Shortly later, Brighton took the lead through Danny Welbeck in the 14th minute.
