The suspected driver of a car that ploughed into a crowd at Liverpool’s Premier League victory parade will today appear in court charged with multiple offences such as wounding and causing grievous bodily harm.
Father-of-three Paul Doyle, 53, is accused of seven offences following the incident on Water Street in the city centre on Monday, which resulted in 79 people suffering injuries.
Doyle faces two counts of wounding with intent, two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, two counts of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of dangerous driving.

Who is Paul Doyle?

Doyle arrives at court amid heavy police presence
The security van believed to be carrying Paul Doyle arrived at Liverpool Magistrates’ Court earlier this morning amid a heavy police presence.
Doyle has remained in custody following his arrest on Monday when 79 people were injured during Liverpool FC’s title celebrations in the city.
