DIVOCK ORIGI has had his contract terminated by AC Milan… 942 days after his last appearance for the Italian giants.
The Liverpool cult hero, 30, signed for Milan in the summer of 2022 following the expiry of his Kop contract.
Origi failed to make an impact during his first season at San Siro, scoring just twice in 36 appearances.
The Belgian’s final appearance for Milan came on May 28, 2023 in a Serie A clash with Juventus.
More than two-and-a-half years on, the Serie A side confirmed Origi’s exit with a brief 26-word statement.
It read: “AC Milan can confirm the termination of Divock Origi’s contract by mutual consent.
“The Club would like to wish him all the best for the future.”
Having struggled at San Siro, Origi moved to Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan during the summer of 2023.
The temporary move did not prove to be a fruitful one, with Origi scoring just once in 22 outings for Forest, and not at all in the Premier League.
His last appearance of any description came as a substitute against Everton on April 21, 2024.

According to French outlet L’Equipe, Origi had been earning around £65,000 a week at AC Milan.
While Italian paper Gazzetta dello Sport report that the forward categorically resisted all transfer interest following his Forest loan.
Following the conclusion of the 2024 summer transfer window, it was concluded that Origi would train away from AC Milan.
The ex-Red reportedly split his time between Rome and Florence while working with a personal trainer.
Origi, who scored 41 goals in 175 Liverpool outings, is fondly remembered by the Kop.
During his eight years at Anfield, Origi memorably enjoyed a sensational purple patch in 2019 – during which he scored goals in the Champions League semi-final win over Barcelona, the clincher in the final against Tottenham, as well as a last minute Merseyside derby winner against Everton.
