A ‘beautiful, sweet and amazing’ young girl has tragically and ‘unexpectedly’ died after falling unwell the day before her ninth birthday.
Olivia Grace Edwards, eight, was at the Kingswell Park and Ride on Skene Road in Aberdeen when she became poorly at around 8.40pm on Saturday, October 25.
Emergency services rushed to the car park on the western outskirts of the city, and the youngster was taken to Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital – where she sadly died ‘a short time later’.
Police Scotland say Olivia’s death is ‘being treated as unexplained but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances’.
Friends of the girl’s devastated parents have now launched a GoFundMe which they hope will ‘take some of the stress away’ and help them to ‘give this beautiful girl the best send off’.
A statement attached to the fundraiser reads: ‘My amazing best friends have lost their beautiful baby girl unexpectedly just one day before her 9th birthday.
‘Her parents, sisters, family, and friends are all heartbroken. Olivia was a beautiful, funny, sweet, amazing little girl and is going to be missed so much by all who knew her.’
One donator said: ‘I don’t know your family personally but I am so desperately sorry for your loss, and I am sending your family much love and strength.’
