Lil Nas X’s father reveals star’s heartbreaking request from jail after nude public ‘breakdown’ and arrest

Robert Stafford, Lil Nas X’s father, is addressing his son’s public breakdown and subsequent arrest.

The 26-year-old music artist spent multiple days in jail last week for stripping nude on a major street in Los Angeles and allegedly assaulting police officers.

Speaking with The Sunday Times, Stafford shared, ‘I went to visit him in jail, and as soon as I walked through that door, I couldn’t do anything but cry.’

He added, ‘To see my baby boy on the other side of that glass. We shed tears with each other for a minute.’

And the heartbroken parent revealed the message his son, born Montero Hill, wanted him to relay to the public.

‘When I went to visit he asked me to… “Tell everybody I’m sorry they saw me like that.” Even in that moment, he was apologizing to people for something he was going through,’ Stafford said.

Stafford had comforting words of wisdom for his troubled son in his dark moment.

The caring father said he told Hill: ‘What you’re going through is normal. We all have breakdowns every now and then, but the difference is, yours played out in the public eye.’

Shortly after he was released from jail, the Old Town Road singer-songwriter emerged on social media to break his silence on the matter.

In a video posted to Instagram Stories, he said the four days he spent behind bars were ‘terrifying.’

But he also offered a message of hope to his 10.3 million followers, saying he was ‘going to be all right.’

The star’s incident has left him with four felony charges, including three counts of battery with injury on a police officer.

Hill started the recording by declaring, ‘Your girl is gonna be OK, y’all.’

The performer, who filmed himself standing under a balcony outdoors while wearing a lime green cardigan, looked around before focusing back on the camera and repeating, ‘She’s gonna be all right.’

One day before his social media statement, Hill exited court in a blue jail jumpsuit after he was released on $75,000 bail.

He had been arraigned earlier in the day.

The Atlanta native was arrested in the wee hours of the morning on August 21 after police saw him walking naked down Ventura Avenue in Studio City.

It led to a confrontation in which Hill charged at the officers, TMZ reported the following Monday.

Hill’s charges include three felony battery counts, including injury on a police officer and resisting an executive officer.
