THE middle aisle of Lidl is adored for good reason, as it contains all kinds of fantastic finds.

And an amazing one has just been brought back at a superbly low price point.

The Silvercrest Vacuum Sealer is a slim-line, versatile machine perfect to keep in any kitchen – and it’s now only £19.99 at Lidl.

Whether you’ve got surplus sauce, excess rice, or meat to split up in the freezer, this handy gadget will help you stash it away more effectively than any regular plastic bag.

Vacuum sealing works by placing an item between plastic and removing any air, before sealing it securely so air can’t get back in.

This keep food fresh for as long as possible by preventing it from developing bacteria, going dry or leaking in your fridge, freezer or cupboard space.

The airlock also assists in preserving flavour as freezer burn cannot take hold of your food.

The vacuum sealer features a few settings split into separate easy-to-use buttons.

There’s a setting for sealing wet food which needs an incredibly tight seal at the edge so it can’t spill out.

Then there’s another setting for soft food which doesn’t need to be too compressed or it will just get squashed in storage.

Only one button needs to be pressed to active the sealing function, which will be completed in less than a minute.

To use a vacuum sealer it’s essential to purchase sealer rolls – the plastic the food ultimately ends up wrapped in.

This Lidl sealer comes with a standard 3m roll already so you’re all covered, but if you enjoy using the machine it’s important to note for future reference that rolls are available in different widths.

Something like a steak, for instance, can lay length ways in plastic wrap and be sealed to take up less space.

But the plastic would have to be wide enough for the steak to have space to lay that way.

You can thaw any frozen food directly inside of its vacuum sealed packaging and snip it open with scissors when it’s time to eat. Enjoy!
