KEANE LEWIS-POTTER’S double sentenced woeful Wolves to a TENTH successive Premier League defeat.
There was no Christmas miracle for Rob Edwards’ side – no win, and not even the point they had threatened after a miserable first half from both teams.

Instead, came an inevitable defeat for a side that struggled to get past a Brentford team that were little better than them here for long periods.
It means that Wolves have now gone TWENTY-ONE Premier League games without a victory – making them comfortably the worst side ever to have worn the club’s gold colours.
They now write their name in the history books for all the wrong reasons with the fewest points tally at Christmas.
The miserable total of just two that they currently have to their name is the same as Sheffield United in the 2020-21 season – but the Blades had only played 14 matches compared to 17 outings of Wolves.
The Bees’ second goal brought cries of ‘You’re not fit to wear the shirt’ from despairing Wolves fans.
And their horror season was summed by when Jorgen Strand Larsen’s weak 86th minute penalty was saved by Brentford keeper Caoimhin Kelleher.
Lewis-Potter’s opener – his first in the league this season – typically owed everything to the Wolves defence’s inability to deal with a ball into the area.
The writing had been on the wall – recalled keeper Jose Sa kept Wolves on level terms with two point-blank saves in the space of a minute after the break.

Both times, he denied Kevin Schade and deserved his place after three months out, replacing Sam Johnstone.
But he was left helpless as Brentford took the lead – and provided the platform to end their own winless run.
Vitaly Janelt’s ball was missed by sleeping Wolves defenders, and when Ladislav Krejci realised Lewis-Potter had found space, it was too late.
And, with seven minutes to go, he was allowed all the time he needed to sweep home a cross from Bees sub Mikkel Damsgaard.
But there was not even the consolation of a goal for Edwards’ men.
Matt Doherty won a penalty after he had been fouled in the area by Kelleher.
But Strand Larsen’s spot-kick illustrated the lack of confidence among Edwards’ squad.
The news on Friday night that Wolves chairman Jeff Shi had stepped down from his role went some way to placating supporters who had long been calling for his removal.
But fans still called for Chinese owners to sell the club when they staged an 18th minute protest.
In a first half of few chances, Lewis-Potter gave a hint of what was to come when he forced a save from Sa.
Wolves began to show some resistance with 14 minutes to go when David Moller Wolfe’s header landed on the roof of the net.
But Strand Larsen’s penalty miss dragged Wolves back down again as his own supporters chanted: ‘What the f*****g hell was that.’.
The Molineux supporters knew the gravity of the situation – and for much of the second half, they sang songs dedicated to past heroes such as Raul Jimenez, Diogo Jota and Ruben Neves.
