A LEGENDARY car brand is making a triumphant return to the UK next year after five years off the market.
Return of the popular Japanese company was confirmed in announcement made today.
Mitsubishi Motors will be introducing a new range of vehicles to the UK market for the first time in summer 2026 after leaving five years ago.
The exact line-up of cars set to come to the UK is yet to be confirmed.
New models from Mitsubishi’s global lineup though have been announced to, with the brand’s latest innovations and four-wheel drive technologies.
Amongst those include the Colt, ASX, L200, Shogun, Eclipse Cross, and Outlander.
International Motors Ltd is the UK-based vehicle importer and distributor that will be overseeing the sales here.
They also manage other brands like GWM, Isuzu, Subaru and Xpeng in the UK.
Frank Krol, president and CEO of Mitsubishi Europe, said: “Our upcoming models represent the very best of Mitsubishi Motors’ core technologies in performance, four-wheel drive and much more.
“We look forward to a successful introduction in the UK – a market where our brand continues to have a deep emotional connection with loyal customers.”

A selection of retailers are now being appointed to hand sales and customer service of Mitsubishi’s to be sold.
This will build the aftersales network that Mitsubishi has established with already over one hundred locations.
The Japanese company previously exited the UK market after sales dropped significantly during the Covid pandemic in 2020.
Howere, Mitsubishi has reportedly always seen Britain as a key part of its European comeback.
Since its withdrawal, Mitsubishi has re-established itself in much of Europe, using models developed through its Alliance partnership with Renault.
This includes the Colt supermini and ASX crossover – both rebadged versions of Renault cars.
It comes another legendary car brand announced it would imminently return to the UK after an eight year hiatus over the summer.
Plans for the brand include the launch of an all-electric line-up of cars currently only sold in four other countries.
The boss of General Motors Europe (GM) said Cadillac will bring models to the UK “soon” – with more brands to follow.
Included in the launch announcement was the Lyriq SUV, which is currently only sold in Switzerland, France, Sweden and Germany.
