A FAMOUS Michelin star restaurant has been stripped of one star after 40 years of being three star.
The French restaurant was famed for hosting big names, such as Barack Obama in 2015.

L’Ambroisie, Paris’ oldest three star restaurant, has been downgraded less than a year after changing ownership and head chef.
The haute cuisine restaurant now has two Michelin stars instead of the three its held for the past 38 years.
Head chef and founder Bernard Pacaud sold the restaurant last year to Walter Butler after retiring from the business.
Shintaro Awa then took over as head chef, hoping to continue the restaurant’s legacy.
As the new young chef finds his feet, the restaurant’s owner noted the two current stars that “underline the excellent work of the new chef”.
Butler told The Times: “[Awa] wishes to incarnate and carry on the legacy while adding his own personality and sincerity.”
Michelin is a high-prestige ranking system wherein restaurants across the globe are marked on their excellence.
As UK high streets have been facing financial struggles, so have Michelin star restaurants.
In the past year alone 31 of them have had to shut for varying reasons.
