A LEFTIE civil service union has been blasted for “terror support”.
It wants to overturn Palestine Action’s terror label.
But peers said the Public and Commercial Services Union should be “deeply ashamed”.
It has tabled an amendment at next month’s Trades Union Congress annual conference calling on the Government to “repeal the authoritarian proscription of Palestine Action (PA) under counter-terrorism laws”.
But ex-Labour MP Lord Ian Austin said: “Trade unions for terrorists, what a load of nonsense.
“I remember when trade unions stood up for working people, not mad extremists who smash their way into factories and terrorise workers.
“They should get on with representing decent working people – not silly gestures about wars which they can have zero impact on.”
Fellow former Labour MP and peer John Woodcock said the union “should be deeply ashamed”.
The PCS wouldn’t comment.
Activists smeared fake blood on the British Consulate in Düsseldorf yesterday in support of Palestine Action — and against Britain’s backing of Israel.
