A FOOTIE club shows off a real turkey of a cup run — by filling a cardboard beaker with Christmas dinner.

League one side Stockport County will offer fans the £4.50 meal in a disposable cup from tomorrow.

It includes turkey, roasties, mashed root veg, sprouts, stuffing, a pig-in-blanket and gravy.

The club said: “This year’s edition comes filled with creamy mashed potatoes topped with Cheshire roasted turkey, garlic-infused roast potatoes, mashed root vegetables, sprouts, cranberry & sausage-meat stuffing and a pig in a blanket, all topped off with a thick Bovril & brandy gravy.

“There’s even more on offer for supporters this Christmas, as we also launch our Festive Dog.

“Our new addition consists of a foot-long Pig in Blanket served in a brioche hot dog roll, filled with caramelised red onions, pulled Cheshire turkey and a warm Bovril & brandy gravy, topped with cranberry mayo & crispy onions.

“County fans will be able to pick up their Christmas Dinner in a Cup or Festive Dog at the County Courtyard before the game and at half-time this weekend, ahead of our early kick-off against Barnsley.”

Hatters fans can’t wait to tuck into the festive fare.

Milo Corrigan cooed: “I am excited about this” while Tom Ashton gushed: “Get in me belly”.

Stockport have racked up eight wins in 16 games and currently sit fifth in League One.
