THE King warmly holds the hand of the world’s oldest person — 116-year-old Ethel Caterham.
And Charles, 40 years her junior, chuckled as she told him: “I remember when your mother crowned you in Caernarfon Castle.
“All the girls were in love with you and wanted to marry you,” she added.
Edward VII was king when Ethel was born in Hampshire in 1909.
She is the last surviving subject who lived under his reign.
She lived in India, then Gibraltar and Hong Kong with her Army husband Norman, who she met in 1931.
The King met the mum of two at her care home in Lightwater, Surrey.
Her three granddaughters were also in attendance for the royal visit.
The pair also spoke about Mrs Caterham’s fond memories of a Buckingham Palace garden party she attended in the 1960s.
The title of the oldest person ever is held by French woman Jeanne Calment, who lived to 122 years 164 days, according to Guinness World Records.
