Kimmel Told Disney He Was Going to Double Down on Charlie Kirk Lies Before They Pulled the Plug: Report

While late night host Jimmy Kimmel’s statements during his monologue Monday were bad enough in lying about Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin as a supporter of President Donald Trump, the host apparently planned to double down in a later monologue before ABC pulled the plug.

Kimmel took a call from executive at Disney Dana Walton Wednesday afternoon in which he received the news he was off the air indefinitely.

According to the New York Post, during that call, Kimmel was unwilling to apologize for his statements Monday despite pressure from critics and affiliate companies who do business with ABC.

Notably, the Post says not only was Kimmel unapologetic about Monday, but he was also going to escalate the issue, going after MAGA supporters and Trump, many of whom are still grieving.

Federal Communications Commission chair Brenden Carr called Monday, “some of the sickest conduct possible” and the host took even more heat from the Sinclair Broadcast group along with Nexstar, which the Post says owns dozens of affiliates with ABC.

Here is that moment.

Monday was bad enough for Kimmel, but to go further?

Was ABC justified in suspending Kimmel?

Kirk has not even been buried yet. His wife, children, friends, and the entire Turning Point family are heartbroken and mourning his departure.

Kimmel should have simply acknowledged the awful moment and moved on. Nobody told him he couldn’t complain about Trump or conservatives anymore.

He could have let the news cycle carry him away from Sept. 10, opting to do his usual “orange man bad” schtick for whatever else the president happened to be up to.

Instead he decided to lie.

All evidence points to Kirk’s assassin being indoctrinated by radical leftist trans ideology.

Sick and Distasteful: Colbert, Dems Try to Turn Kimmel Into the Left’s Charlie Kirk

Lying is nothing new for these late night hosts, but this was an egregious and dangerous thing to do.

Fellow late night host Stephen Colbert is already slated for removal and felt the urge to stand in solidarity with Kimmel Thursday, telling his audience, “We are all Jimmy Kimmel” in a sickening disrespectful moment, mocking Kirk’s supporters who previously declared “We are all Charlie Kirk.”

The liberal elite are so used to spouting idiotic falsehoods without any repercussions, that when those repercussions do come around, these people are totally blindsided.

Those falsehoods, along with the inability to form a complete sentence without saying the name Trump, are why so many viewers are turning off the television. A separate report from the Post citing Neilson numbers shows Kimmel’s viewership was already taking a tumble.

January 2025 had 1.95 million people tuning in. August saw just 1.1 million, a decline of 43%.

With context, Wednesday’s news is not a startling moment in broadcast history.

Less people were watching Kimmel and the network was probably looking for a reason to axe him.
