Kim Kardashian made a splash with her outfit at her NikeSKIMS store launch in Los Angeles on Friday – only to be upstaged by her daughter North West.
The 44-year-old SKIMS founder brought her 12-year-old firstborn to celebrate her brand’s collaboration with Nike at its store opening at The Grove.
Her eldest child — whom she shares with her ex-husband, controversial rapper Kanye West — looked nearly as tall as her already, even though Kardashian was wearing heels and her daughter was in boots.
The reality TV star showed off her famous curves in a skintight quarter-zip top, which she tucked into a pair of royal purple, cropped leggings.
But she was outshone by North, who showcased her fun, personal style as she also coordinated her look to include a pair of bug-eye style, shield sunglasses.
With electric blue braids and, a statement t-shirt and a pendant necklace, North proved she has inherited her mother’s flair for making an entrance.

Their outing at the opening of the Nike store rebrand comes on the same day as her newest collaborative collection launched on the global sportswear titan’s website.
Kim added inches to her height in flip-flop-style heels and accessorized a pair of oversize, goggle-inspired sunglasses.
Earlier this week, Kardashian invited Martha Stewart to party with her family at a NikeSKIMS launch event in New York City.
She also debuted some of the pieces with her own fashion show-style performance — where her sisters and their mother Kris Jenner was also in attendance.
After the collection went live, Kardashian turned heads as she strutted into The Grove with her daughter and her entourage.
Her hair was styled in wet-look waves and she rocked a glamorous, monochromatic makeup look with neutral tones and a nude lip.
She opted for an understated look while her daughter showed off her juxtaposing, street style as a jewelry maximalist.
Her daughter North wore a graphic T-shirt with baggy basketball shorts with her hair styled in long, bright blue pigtail braids for a pop of color.
She had a bright smile on her face while she walked alongside her mom for the special event.

The SKIMS founder, 44, brought along her preteen daughter, now 12, to celebrate the release of her brand’s collaboration with Nike at the opening of the store at The Grove
Kardashian debuted the collaboration earlier this week, just days ahead of the inaugural apparel collection launching for sale.
She recently posed topless on the cover of Vogue, and in the interview with the fashion magazine, she spoke about working on NikeSKIMS.
‘To me, it just made sense,’ she said about the collaboration with Nike. ‘Skims is very body-oriented — we do swimwear, loungewear, shapewear — so our next evolution was that we really wanted to do activewear.’
She added: ‘Our dream was to work with Nike: Their legacy, innovation, and athlete insights — it was the perfect thing to mix with Skims, and our dedication to the female form.’
She also revealed her exercise secrets and gave a sneak peek into her daily regimen to stay healthy and fit.
‘I love to work out — it’s my therapy,’ Kardashian said. ‘I work out every single day, and everyone I know works out multiple times a week.

‘I’m a big weightlifter, so I do lots of weights,’ she continued. ‘I’ve had some back issues, so I’ve had to re-adjust just some of my workouts, but I have to do lower body in order to stay toned. I do a few days of upper body. I usually pick a body part, and we stick to that for the day.
‘I do an hour and a half a day, with weights and stretching, and a little bit of cardio. I love pilates, so I will incorporate that, and I love wearing our pilates leggings. I find when I don’t incorporate pilates at least once a week, I can feel it in my back. I definitely need that lengthening and stretching.’
She also admitted: ‘I am the kind of annoying workout person where I check my phone throughout the workout, though, and respond to people. I’m sure that really frustrates my trainer.’
After sharing her favorite exercises, she also revealed the one workout that she doesn’t tend to do.
‘Honestly, I know I should get into hot yoga, but I did it once and I fell asleep. Just with the mood, and you lay down and close your eyes. I can fall asleep anywhere, so put me in the position to fall asleep, and I will.’
