KIEFER Sutherland left fans in shock on Friday as he arrived to Heart Radio looking ultra-youthful, with many claiming he is “ageing backwards”.
The actor, 58, who is known for series such as 24 and Designated Survivor, joined Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston on Heart Breakfast to promote his new movie, Tinsel Town.
But it was his appearance that had fans more captivated, as many claimed he was “ageing backwards”.
One wrote in the comment section of a clip uploaded by Heart FM: “That’s Not Kiefer Sutherland, is it?”
“Omg i didn’t recognise him,” said another.
A third wrote: “He looks younger now than he did in 1983”, as another echoed: “How young does Kiefer look? Amazing”.
Another fan said: “He looks great!”
During his radio appearance Kiefer shared the best advice he was given from his actor father Donald Sutherland, who received several accolades across his career.
“The one thing that he did say, from a, kind of, father and actor [point of view] to me when I was starting out was, ‘Don’t let them catch you lying’,” began Kiefer.
“What did he mean by that?” questioned host Jamie.
“He said, If you don’t feel the emotions to get there, to cry, don’t fake it.
“So, I didn’t listen to his advice and the movie wasn’t very good, I got absolutely slaughtered,” laughed Kiefer, clarifying that his dad was right all along.
Since then, the actor has carved out a successful career spanning four decades.
The actor is currently promoting his new Christmas comedy film, Tinsel Town, which also features Rebel Wilson, Danny Dyer, Lucien Laviscount and Katherine Ryan.
Premiering in London on Thursday night, the SKY Original film also features Robbie Williams’ daughter, Teddy, in what is her acting debut.
The official plotline reads: “Due to his career as an action star leading to being typecast and blacklisted, Bradley Mack [Kiefer Sutherland] finds himself high and dry without any potential roles.
“This leads to his agent offering him to fly to England to do theatre work, however instead of doing any serious thespian performances in the west end, Bradley is stunned to discover he has been commissioned to portray the part of ‘Buttons’ in a small town panto of Cinderella.”
Tinsel Town is available to stream on Sky Cinema from 5 December.
