Katie Price’s ‘full-on rage’ as she’s excluded from daughter Princess’s new reality show. Horrified insiders tell KATIE HIND: ‘Katie craves attention and is trying to steal the limelight – it’s so sad!’

It has been a thrillingly busy week for Princess Andre as she prepares for the launch of her ITV fly-on-the-wall show.

The Princess Diaries has been months in the making and there is much hope at the network that the four-part programme will be not just a hit for them, but will catapult the 18-year-old into a household name, just as ITV did for her parents when they appeared on I’m A Celebrity… together.

I’m told her former popstar dad, Peter, who still is much-loved by his fans, is ‘unbelievably proud’ of his daughter. So, too, is his second wife Emily, an NHS doctor, while Princess’s older brother, Junior, is also thrilled at his little sister’s success.

There is just one dark cloud over this most important of weeks for Princess – and that’s coming from her own mother, Katie Price.

The glamour model, formerly known as Jordan, is furious she has been banned from appearing on the show, much of which is filmed at Peter’s Surrey mansion.

In one of the series’s later episodes, viewers will see the run-up to Princess’s 18th birthday back in June and the party that followed.

Katie, however, is notable for her absence throughout.

Peter – to whom Princess is extremely close – has a starring role, along with Emily and Junior. Yet Katie’s only appearance in the opening episode, which is aired on Sunday, comes in a voice note where she explains that Princess was a naughtier child than her brother.

Her exclusion has prompted Katie’s ‘full-on rage’, according to sources. Despite the fact that most parents would be rooting for their offspring as they achieve their dream, Princess’s mother is fuming that she isn’t at the centre of the show.

Katie’s excommunication comes because she has been banned from the show by Princess’s agents, CAN Associates.

The Sussex-based firm, whose founder and owner is the respected showbusiness agent Claire Powell, also managed Katie while she was married to Pete. Claire still manages Peter to this day.

On Thursday Katie took to her own podcast and let rip, ranting about being left out of the project, taking aim at the agent who has masterminded Peter’s career for almost 25 years.

‘I was very, very upset when Princess signed with them when she was 16,’ she said.

‘People need to know when I was with Pete we were both managed by the same management and people will know who that is if they watch our shows and she managed Pete before he was in the jungle.

‘She controlled the narrative of me and Pete, photoshoots, when we could hold hands, she was the dominator of it all.’

Just two days before, a similar story appeared in a red top newspaper, with notably well-sourced quotes, prompting much anger within Team Andre.

Then, last Saturday, during a recent interview with The Sun alongside her old friend Kerry Katona, Katie branded herself a ‘momager’ – a term made famous by Kim Kardashian’s mum Kris Jenner. She said that she wants nothing more than for her young daughter to take part in Love Island, where girls parade around in tiny bikinis in a bid to find a boyfriend.

Yet this is exactly what Princess is trying to avoid, a fact that shows the disconnect between this ambitious, mature young woman and her troubled mother.

For unlike her mother, she has determinedly kept her private life out of the headlines – in May this year, she reportedly split from her boyfriend of two years, but even his name is still not public.

Princess’s real dream, she insists, rather than posing in skimpy clothing, is to become a successful businesswoman. This is something her mother has failed at, having gone bankrupt twice.

And make no mistake, in a world where social media currency is everything, with her 800,000 TikTok subscribers and 700,000 Instagram followers, Princess has a real chance of making considerable money, much in the vein of successful influencer Molly Mae Hague.

One can only imagine that the sight of her beautifully fresh-faced daughter – who bears a considerable resemblance to her mother in her younger, pre-surgery days – must stir all sorts of emotions within Katie.

Perhaps this then, is why she is making her feelings public.

‘On the face of it, Katie seems to be is doing everything she can to take the attention away from her daughter now,’ says a source familiar with the Andres.

‘But Katie has had no part in her daughter’s career – and never will.

‘This should be a really exciting time for Princess but over the last couple of months her mum has been doing everything she can to take the limelight away from her.

‘Princess was booked to make her catwalk debut at the opening of the Ibiza Fashion Festival back in June, and what did Katie do? She flew out to Ibiza and made sure everyone knew she was there with daily stories and pictures with the likes of Wayne Lineker and Dean Gaffney. It’s embarrassing.

‘What mother wouldn’t want to let their child have their time in the spotlight? Princess has become a success despite who her mum is. She is not like Katie and will never do a show like Love Island because that’s not who she is.

‘These latest comments are going to really upset Princess. She loves her mum but her behaviour is showing her that she doesn’t have her best interests at heart.

‘Katie craves fame and attention and will use anything she can to make headlines even if it’s at the detriment of her young daughter. It’s sad.’

The source added: ‘Katie has spoken out about being banned from the show.

‘But the truth is she’s not involved in her career. The show is about Princess’s career as an influencer and her home life with dad Peter, step-mum Emily and brother Junior, which Katie is not involved in.

‘Everyone is very protective of Princess. Big brother Junior has always looked out for her and knew she’d be the one to get all the attention when she got older. He filmed with her in Ibiza and while he see his mum, the first thing Katie did was post it all over her Instagram.

‘Nothing is private with Katie, it’s all about keeping herself in the limelight.

‘And now she’s kicking off and doing everything she can to overshadow what should be a really lovely time for Princess.

‘Katie has made this all about her and it has been convenient for her to be able to reignite a feud she has with [manager] Claire Powell.’

At its height, their row was vicious. After Katie met Peter on I’m A Celeb and they began dating, Claire signed Katie to her stable of stars.

Already the woman responsible for carving Peter’s comeback after he fell off the celebrity radar following his 1996 hit Mysterious Girl, she negotiated eye-wateringly lucrative deals for the couple, including their wedding deal with OK magazine and, ironically, a successful ITV fly-on-the-wall show.

But when Katie and Peter split in 2009, Claire was staunchly loyal to Peter as their separation and subsequent divorce was played out in the tabloid press.

Claire, who has also managed the likes of Gemma Collins and Kerry Katona, became a constant figure in Junior and Princess’s lives as they endured chaos thanks to their mother’s unpredictable lifestyle.

Indeed, in the programme, Princess admits that she ‘did have a counsellor, I do still see her every now and then.

‘But I don’t feel like I can really talk, so I just write everything down in my notes.

‘I do wish, like, I could have had a more happier childhood. In the sense of like, I had so many things on my plate at a young age.’

Throughout the ups and downs, she spent a lot of time with Claire, and she and Princess adore one another.

Claire also has a starring role in the first episode where Princess visits her Sussex mansion to discuss her dreams of having her own make-up range – something which will truly rile Katie.

A source tells me: ‘Can you imagine Princess being the success she is today if Katie was managing her? No way. Claire is a bit Marmite, but when she has a vision, she knows how to make it work.’

There’s more than enough evidence of this. Today, Princess has deals with hair styling giant GHD and high street chain Superdrug, while on Thursday she was prompting a new Space NK store in central London.

Last week, Tatler crowned Princess their second Best Dressed Star in Britain. The magazine stated: ‘The daughter of glamour model Katie Price and 1990s pop heartthrob Peter Andre is the face of a new generation of British pop culture royalty. At just 18, the world is her oyster, and with her babydoll eyes, blonde beachy waves down to her hips and wardrobe of Y2K revival hits, this Princess is ready for her crown.’

Princess and her team were delighted: ‘It showed that all her hard work had paid off. She is a classy young woman at the start of her career.’

Now, I’m told, the teenager’s team just hope that her mother can be proud. And keep her mouth shut.
