It contained the caption: “TOMORROW … ON SNAPCHAT.”
The clip say Kylie in handcuffs being strolled through a prison by two burly guards.
Kylie looked super glamorous before the words “King Kylie Tomorrow” flashed on the screen.
Speculation first kicked off when Kylie retweeted a 2016 post from Charli XCX which called upon the then 19-year-old to launch a music career.
The tweet read: “i hope kylie jenner becomes a popstar in 2017.”
Kylie re-shared the message for the first time ever nine years later without adding any context.
The make-up mogul herself than appeared to confirm that she would be relaunching her 2016 King Kylie era by further retweeting a message which said: “I hurd king kylie is coming back.”
King Kylie refers to the era between 2016 and 2018 when Kylie became one of the first celebrities to make use of the app Snapchat by sharing her daily life updates.
She adopted the nickname King Kylie with her uploads during this period documenting her wild teenage antics, her highly-publicised romance with rapper Tyga as well as the launch of her hugely successful Kylie Cosmetics brand.
She was well known for her plumped-up lips and quirky hairstyles during this time.
Now, her new trailer appears to be a direct follow-up to her 2016 ‘music video’ to plug her first ever lip gloss range for Kylie Cosmetics.
She dropped a two-and-a-half minute viral video to advertise the project which featured the then-unknown song, 3 Strikes by Terror Jr.
The band had no online presence and led many to believed that it was actually Kylie singing on the track.
Months later, she clarified that this was not the case but fans have now become excited that she could be about to debut music for real after adopting her own name.
The project in question appears to be tied with her cosmetics brand as they shared their own similar clip to plug something happening with Kylie.
It has been a big week for Kylie after it was confirmed she had landed her first ever acting role.
She has been announced as one of the lead performers in the upcoming movie, The Moment.
The film is based on an idea by Brat superstar Charli XCX who will co-lead the movie with Kylie after a slew of smaller acting appearances this year following her hugely successful album run.
The Moment will be Kylie’s first acting project with it being co-produced by Charli’s entertainment company, Studio365, and A24 Films.
Alexander Skarsgard, Rachel Sennott and Rosanna Arquette will also star in the movie alongside British comedian Jamie Demetriou and UK-based DJ and musician, Shygirl, amongst a larger, sprawling ensemble cast.
The film will follow a popstar, played by Charli, as she follows her career and deals with “the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut.”
Details of Kylie’s role are yet to be revealed.
The film will be written by Aidan Zamiri and Bertie Brandes and is expected to land next year.
Kylie is following in sister Kim’s footsteps with the star carving out her own impressive acting career.
Kim appeared as the lead actress in the twelfth season of American Horror Story before landing a lead role in Disney’s upcoming big-budget legal drama, All’s Fair, alongside Sarah Paulson and Glenn Close.
She is also attached to Netflix comedy, The Fifth Wheel, directed by Eva Longoria, the upcoming live-action Bratz remake as well as an untitled thriller movie at Amazon MGM Studios.
