KAI ROONEY scored his first goal for Manchester United Under-18s – but he was overshadowed by a wonderkid.
The winger, who is still only 15-years-old, made the jump up to the U18s this season.
And it haa not taken long for him to get off the mark, rounding off a 5-0 win over Middlesbrough U18s.
Rooney’s goal had a touch of good fortune about it as it deflected off a defender before looping over the goalkeeper.
But he did well to find space in the box and shrugged off a defender before letting fly with his left foot.
It was a promising display from the youngster, with his team-mate JJ Gabriel also catching the eye.
The 14-year-old scored twice, his first a poacher’s effort before firing in a brilliant left-footed strike after creating space in the box.
Fans were in awe at the display with one reacting saying: “This kid is ridiculous. What a player we have.”
Another added: “He’s genuinely a joke. Incredible.”
A third wrote: “More technical than garnacho🤭 A star already brewing 🔝”

And another commented: “Wonderkid.”
Gabriel, who has earned the tag ‘Kid Messi’, is set to train with Ruben Amorim’s first team this season.
Gabriel committed his future to United for at least the next two years and has been tipped by insiders to become their youngest EVER Premier League player.
He is so highly rated that technical director Jason Wilcox and director of football Matt Hargreaves played active roles in keeping him at the club.
