Kai Rooney, 16, shares rare glimpse of the family’s lavish £20M Cheshire mansion with huge trophy room for dad Wayne’s footballing honours

Wayne and Coleen Rooney‘s eldest son Kai shared a rare glimpse inside the family’s £20M Cheshire mega mansion during a visit from his barber on Thursday.

The young footballer, 16, welcomed hairstylist Tom Jackson on the sweeping driveway before taking him inside the property, which in the past has referred to as the ‘Morrisons mansion’ due to its similarity to the supermarket chain.

Kai cut a casual figure in a grey tracksuit as the barber parked his car next to the Rooney’s incredible fleet of motors, which included two £90,000 Range Rovers.

Kai later gave the grand tour as she showed off a huge trophy room with floor to celling shelves to show off his dad’s numerous footballing honours, including 120 caps for England.

Taking to Instagram, barber Tom captioned the clip: ‘Call out at Wayne Rooney‘s gaff’.

Wayne and Coleen, who wed in 2008, are also parents to Klay, 11, Kay, nine, and seven-year-old Cass.

They build the mansion on sprawling 40 acres from scratch, before finally moving in in 2022, decades after growing up as childhood sweethearts from deprived Liverpool council estates.

The home boasts a snooker room, a home cinema, indoor swimming pool, an underground spa, wine cellar, a stable area with space for 14 horses, and, a football pitch for their four sons.

The ground floor has a huge indoor swimming pool surrounded by a glass pavilion and a hot tub, plunge pool and steam room.

There is also a large garage for the former Manchester United star’s fleet of sports cars, as well as a stable block. In order to avoid the social faux pas of using the couple’s own downstairs loo, there is a ‘guest toilet’ too and even separate lifts – one for the family, the other for visitors.

Upstairs has six bedrooms, all with en-suites, with the master bedroom also boasting a dressing room.

The property has two floors as well as a subterranean basement, which is home to the steam room, plunge pool, hot tub, gym, cinema room with ten seats, wine cellar and snooker room with bar.

The plush garage has room for six cars and the stables have room for 14 horses plus a hay store and a tack room.

Kai has been tipped for the very top, with Daily Mail Sport’s Oliver Holt describing him last week as the best young English talent he’s seen since Rooney himself.

Last month Kai put in yet strong performance as United’s U16s beat the Canaries’ youth side 6-4 in the Premier League Cup semi-final on Saturday.

Posing with the match ball after the game, Kai shared an image of himself to his 400,000 Instagram followers.

‘PL cup semi final. 6-4 win vs Norwich. Four (football emoji),’ he wrote.

He later shared an image of his No 7 shirt on the dressing room floor after the game.

That performance came two days after The Sun reported that Kai was offered a new £50,000-per-year scholarship deal by the club, alongside a ‘very strong’ group of 13 other youngsters.

In January, under the Old Trafford lights, it was finally Kai’s night following a run of injury struggles. The Rooney shirt hanging up in the home dressing room was his as was the name on the official FA Youth Cup team-sheet.

Wayne and mum Coleen played cheerleaders from the sidelines, where Michael Carrick also watched on.

His performances for both the U16s and U18s have impressed and no doubt the youngster will continue to push for involvement.

The latest victory sees United extend their winning streak to eight games in all competitions.

They’ll look to make that nine in a row next Wednesday when they face West Ham U18s in the Premier League Cup.
