JUST EAT has unveiled a major new AI-powered tool that’ll make ordering your dinner quicker, easier and far less stressful.
It’s designed to tackle one of the biggest headaches for hungry Brits: choice overload, with thousands of options often leaving customers stuck deciding what to eat.

The takeaway giant has launched a pioneering AI Voice Assistant on its iOS and Android apps and the UK is the first country in the world to get it.
Instead of endlessly scrolling through menus, customers can now simply talk to the app, asking things like “I want something spicy but not too heavy” or “What’s good near me tonight?”
The assistant then suggests restaurants, cuisines and dishes, before speeding users straight through to checkout.
Just Eat says the tool acts like a personal food concierge, helping users cut through the noise and find exactly what they’re craving.

The feature was previously available as a chat function, but now adds natural voice conversation, making the experience even faster and more intuitive.
Using advanced AI, the assistant can understand everything from clear instructions to rambling, half-formed thoughts when users don’t quite know what they want.
Crucially, it evaluates intent, meaning it can work out what customers are really asking for, even if they don’t say it perfectly.
It’s also capable of processing requests in dozens of languages, ensuring users get the right results no matter how they phrase their order.
While food remains the focus, the assistant can also help customers discover retail, pharmacy and beauty options available through the app.
Just Eat says the update will also make ordering more accessible, particularly for users with limited mobility or visual impairments.
Unlike traditional apps that rely on tapping and scrolling, the assistant allows people to switch seamlessly between voice and touch, reducing the need to stay glued to the screen.
Mert Öztekin, Chief Technology Officer at Just Eat Takeaway.com, said the company was “continually focused on leveraging technology to improve the ordering journey”.
