Jurgen Klopp ‘would return to management for two jobs as he seriously considers becoming Real Madrid manager’

JURGEN KLOPP would return to management for either Real Madrid or the German national team.

Klopp, 58, has been away from the dugout since May 2024 after rolling credits on a glittering nine-year stint at Liverpool citing fatigue.

The German tactician then took over as Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull in January 2025 and has since been overlooking all of the group’s football teams.

The ex-Borussia Dortmund boss then suggested in June that his managerial career might be over after admitting he doesn’t want that life “anymore”.

According to transfer insider Florian Plettenberg, however, Klopp might be set for a massive U-turn.

But there are only two projects that would convince the German to return to the hustle and bustle of football “if everything fits.”

One is Real, which is a club that “always fascinated him” and he is seriously considering the role provided that the 15-time European champions make a concrete move for the summer.

The other one is Germany, who are set to compete in the 2026 World Cup this summer.

The national team’s current boss Julian Nagelsmann will have to prove himself after succeeding Hansi Flick, who became the first ever manager Germany ever sacked in 2023.

Nevertheless, the same source claims Klopp is “happy” and has a “strong identification” with the Red Bull project.

However, Plettenberg suggested the transfer speculation involving a potential link-up between the Liverpool legend and Real will drag out.

Los Blancos sacked ex-manager Xabi Alonso following Sunday’s 3-2 loss to rivals Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup and replaced him with youth boss Alvaro Arbeloa on an interim basis.

That ended a Alonso’s turbulent eight-month stint in Madrid that was inundated with reports claiming he couldn’t work with the team’s biggest stars.

Klopp was among the top names immediately touted as a potential permanent replacement but he recently insisted there has been no contact with Real.
